Children at azc Gilze created their own setting for living paintings. Transporting themselves into Van Gogh’s world for a short while. With life-size chairs, tables, lamps, houses and even starry skies made of cardboard.
Together with artist Pieter Max, the children worked on their wonderland for several weeks. They immersed themselves in van Gogh and drew inspiration from the fact that the famous painter also grew up in Gilze. His world became our world and sometimes vice versa.
The results are wonderful photographs where then and now, you and me, real and fake come together.
